Awards and Accolades - Spring 2018

 

  • Denise Green received the 2018 Richard Martin Exhibition Award from the Costume Society of America for the exhibit she curated, “The Biggest Little Fashion City: Ithaca & Silent Film Style.”
  • Stacey Langwick was awarded a Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies.
  • Kathryn March is part of the team that was awarded a fall 2017 Engaged Opportunity Grant. Their project is "FOR Nepal: Building a Community Center Together: Planning and building a community center in earthquake-ravaged Mhanégang, Nepal".
  • Hiro Miyazaki was appointed Nagasaki City Official Peace Correspondent.
  • Annelise Riles received the Anneliese Maier Award for lifetime achievement across the social sciences and humanities from the German government and the Humboldt Foundation.
  • Charis Boke received an archival fellowship from the Wood Institute at the Mutter Museum of the College of Physicians in Philadelphia.
  • PhD Candidate Elena Guzman received a Mellon Mays dissertation writing grant.
  • Ivy Deng was awarded the Freedman Award for Undergraduate Research in .
  • José Armando Fernández Guerrero ’18, double major in and Linguistics, is part of a team awarded an Engaged Opportunity Grant. Their project is "Preserving the Ch'ol Language: Creating language resources to empower the Ch’ol-speaking community."  In addition, José was selected by the Linguistic Society of America to receive a Diversity Travel Award to attend the Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City.
  • Cornell Exchange leaders Angaelica LaPasta '19 and Francesca LaPasta '19 received Caplan Travel Fellowships.
