The department of anthropology supports its faculty and graduate student instructors who choose to participate in #ScholarStrike, a national collective action to be held on Sept 8-9 to protest against white supremacy, police brutality, mass incarceration, and other manifestations of racism in this country. It is up to individual instructors to decide whether and how to engage with this action; some will refrain from teaching their courses, others may use class time to address issues of racial injustice and/or provide students with resources to learn more about racism and its pernicious effects.
