Audrey Rytting '21 is a math major minoring in anthropology. She shares her experiences.
What is your major?
I am a Mathematics major (Applied Math Concentration)
What inspired you to minor in anthropology? Do you have a specific area of interest?
I decided to minor in after taking a few of the classes offered. I took Stone Age Art and Bioarchaeology my freshman year and really enjoyed the classes!
Do you have any favorite classes?
My favorite classes I took in have been Bioarchaeology and Histories of Food Inequality. I think I learned a lot from both classes, and I always recommend Bioarchaeology to my friends during pre-enroll.
Do you have any advice for students considering a minor in anthropology?
My advice for students considering a minor in would be: do it! All of the classes I’ve taken have been among my favorite classes at Cornell.
What do you think you'll miss most about Cornell/Ithaca after graduation?
I think I’ll miss the experiences I’ve gotten through taking classes at Cornell. I’ve been able to dig up 19th century shoes and coins and make art with plants because of the classes I’ve taken, and I don’t know when I’ll have those opportunities again.
