Ph.D. candidate Emiko Stock has been named a Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellow for 2017 at the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.
The Newcombe Fellowship is the nation’s largest and most prestigious award for Ph.D. candidates in the humanities and social sciences addressing questions of ethical and religious values.
Emiko is completing her dissertation, titled Touching History: An With Images: Chams | Sayyids | Cambodia | Iran. Her dissertation explores how some Cham Muslims of Cambodia go to Iran to further an image of history located between Sunnism to Shi'ism, and therefore beyond sectarian divisions.
