Oradi Inkhong is a third-year Ph.D. student in sociocultural anthropology. Her research focuses on the music of Shan diaspora in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she explores the forms of Shan diaspora’s musical creations represent historical consciousness and individual memories that still circulate in Shan’s homeland. Previously, she received her M.A. in Anthropology from Thammasat University, Thailand, where she developed a strong interest in anthropology of music. Her master thesis examines the construction of the identity of Lanna people through the popularity of a drum performance known as sabatchai drum.
